This is a very special item for science fiction collectors, not only a hilarious and perfect parody of a famous magazine in the field, but a collection of first appearances of the work of several award-winning writers. PLUS it is signed by Edward Bryant, and I believe it was his personal copy, whichhe donated to the Funds for Literacy Auction at Denver's Mile High Con last fall. (The note which went along for the auctioneer's use is included.)
The cover art is by Artist Guest of Honor Alex Schomburg. The cover itselfis an spot-on replication of the look of Fantasy and Science Fiction, the longest running sf magazine in existence. Included among the convention information are articles by David Gerrold, George R. R. Martin, and the 1st appearance (in this form) of a piece by Harlan Ellison called "A Love Song toJerry Falwell".
In fiction, there is a Vonda McIntyre story and a pulp story parody, written as fan fiction, by F. M. Busby. Edward Bryant contributed an excerpt froma novel in progress, which he has signed in this copy. This item also features the first publication of John Varley's story, "The Manhattan Phone Book (Abridged)".
This program book is in excellent condition, and will be packed so as to arrive at your home still looking almost new!

The dances are for children from Kindergarten throughJunior High, and include those from many cultures. Common dances and rare ones are both presented. Square dances, round dances and folk dances. Each is featured on one card, sometimes with a simple diagram and also with information that is probably not currently useful, such as a record suggestion.Each card has formation, position and skills needed, and the steps are described. Some dances are continued on a second card. A dance teacher or physical education teacher might find these invaluable. Some of the dances are:Glow Worm, Goodn ight Ladies, Captain Jinks, Bingo. The Village Rhymester seems to have had his own radio program, back in theday, and listeners clammored for a printed copy of the upbeat poems he wrote and read on the air. These are quite decent offerings and pleasant reading today. Of special interest is the one illustrated poem, a tribute to Charles Lindbergh. The pages of this small volume are slightly yellowed, andthe edges are worn, with an inch long tear on the back cover. A small strip on the top of the back cover shows mouse nibbles. A former owner's nameis pencilled in. Overall clean and sound and charming.

Printed by J.M. Dent & Sons, New York: E.P. Dutton & Co. It was part of a series called The Wayfarer's Library. No copyright date that I can see, butthe date at the end of the Foreword is October 1916. The author was a reporter and wrote up his experiences in France in World War I. These are the full versions, not the edited ones which appeared in the newspapers. There are small illustrations. It was a library copy and apparently was in severalcollections. On the front, pasted on, is a label that says American LibraryAssociation Soldiers and Sailors Camp Library. Inside on the title page isa stamp, oval in shape that says Isidor Hurwitz Library of the J.C.R.S. (Jewish Consumptives' Relief Society) The card in the front shows it was checked out in 1929 and 1931. There are the usual library markings, including accession number on the title page and page 101. This came from the libraryat the sanatorium. The library was boxed up in the 1950's or 1960's when the sanatorium closed down, and stored for the last 40 years. The book has some wear on the edges, corners and spine.
